AEMO has released a report on the response of small-scale PV inverters to power system frequency disturbances.
Power system security
As power system operator for the National Electricity Market and Wholesale Electricity Market, AEMO is responsible for maintaining power system security and stability.
The future generation supply mix will look very different to that of the past, as illustrated in our most recent Electricity Statement of Opportunities which illustrates supply generation by fuel type. AEMO has established a program of work to build our understanding of the potential opportunities and challenges in operating a stable and secure power system with less synchronous generation.
The Future Power System Security program seeks to identify opportunities and challenges to power system security and stability that could arise in the long-term (nominally a 10-year outlook), and promote solutions as soon as practicable where appropriate. Efficient solutions to some challenges could involve a long lead time to implementation if changes to legislation or Rules are required. This raises the need for early identification and action of long-lead time matters and the potential need for interim measures to be implemented by AEMO under the current regulatory regime.

AEMO has released a report on the response of small-scale PV inverters to power system frequency disturbances. Section 4.6 (p. 24): changed frequency error to 50.58 Hz (was 51.15 Hz). Chapter 6 (p. 27) and Chapter 7 (p. 29) changed typographical error to AS4777-2005 (was AS4777.2-2005)
April 2016 - Future Power System Security Update
