2012 Gas Statement of Opportunities

AEMO intends to publish its 2012 Gas Statement of Opportunities (GSOO) by 31 December 2012.

The GSOO is intended for energy stakeholders and potential gas industry investors. Its purpose is to inform readers about the current state of the gas industry in Eastern and South Eastern Australia. It also highlights potential gas system constraints, future developments, and opportunities for investment.

The GSOO and the National Transmission Network Development Plan (NTNDP), AEMO’s other national planning report, use a common set of study assumptions. Some assumptions will also be used for the Electricity Statement of Opportunities (ESOO), Victorian Annual Planning Report (VAPR) and South Australian Supply and Demand Outlook (SASDO).

AEMO is currently consulting on the study assumptions for 2012, and stakeholders are invited to comment on them. For more information about the consultation, see Planning Studies 2012 Consultation.
