The Reserve Capacity timetable shows the key dates for various milestones in the Reserve Capacity Mechanism (RCM). This timetable will help Market Participants to keep track of important dates and their obligations under the RCM.
AEMO will run the 2016 and 2017 Reserve Capacity Cycles concurrently. The 2016 and 2017 Reserve Capacity Cycles are for the 2018-19 Capacity Year and the 2019-20 Capacity Year respectively. The timetables for both Reserve Capacity Cycles can be found below.
2016 and 2017 Reserve Capacity Cycle timetable Rule Change
On 29 June 2017, the Minister for Energy implemented a Rule Change to extend all remaining dates in the 2016 and 2017 Reserve Capacity Cycles. This Rule Change has been executed under the Minister for Energy’s temporary Rule Change powers under the Electricity Industry (Wholesale Electricity Market) Regulation 2004. 2016 Extension Notice
In April 2016, AEMO updated a number of timetable deadlines based on extension requests proposed by the Public Utilities Office (PUO) in the light of the State Government’s Electricity Market Review. For more information on the 2016 extensions please refer here.
