Carbon Dioxide Equivalent Intensity Index Procedure - Consultation

This notice is to inform all National Electricity Market Registered Participants, Intending Participants and interested parties that AEMO has completed the consultation on the Carbon Dioxide Equivalent Intensity Index Procedure. This consultation was conducted under clause 3.13.14 of the National Electricity Rules (NER) in accordance with the NER consultation requirements in clause 8.9.

The Carbon Dioxide Equivalent Intensity Index is a measure of the carbon dioxide equivalent emissions from market generators and scheduled generators. An index will be published for the National Electricity Market (NEM) and for each NEM Region. This procedure encompasses how the Carbon Dioxide Equivalent Intensity Index is calculated, published and updated.

The Final Determination was published on 14 December 2010, with an effective date of 1 July 2011 (or earlier if AEMO publishes the intensity index earlier).
