Regional Victoria Reactive Support – Project Specification Consultation Report

RIT-T Termination Notice
- As a result of the revised forecast in electricity use, as detailed in AEMO’s 2012 National Electricity Forecast Report (NEFR), together with the installation of two new transformers at Bendigo (scheduled to be commissioned in late 2013), the need for additional reactive power support in Regional Victoria, as shown in the Project Specification Consultation Report (PSCR) above, has been deferred.
- The PSCR was prepared using the maximum demand forecast published in the 2011 Electricity Statement Of Opportunity (ESOO), indicating a need for additional reactive power support in Regional Victoria by summer 2015-16.
- AEMO has decided not to proceed to complete this RIT-T at this moment, but will continue to assess the need for additional reactive power support as part of the Victorian Annual Planning Report (VAPR) to ensure that any need identified can be met timely.
