Purpose of consultation
In accordance with rule 492 of the National Gas Rules, the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) is conducting a review of market parameters in the Short Term Trading Market (STTM).
While there is no mandated review of the market parameters in the Declared Wholesale Gas Market (DWGM), AEMO is taking the opportunity to consider reviewing the DWGM market parameters in conjunction with the STTM parameter review.
Final Report
AEMO is conducting a staged review of the Market Parameters of the Declared Wholesale Gas Market (DWGM) and the Short Term Trading Market (STTM). This final report details AEMO’s decision not to recommend any changes to the market parameters in the STTM and the DWGM.
Stage 2 DWGM and STTM Market Parameter Review - Draft Report
AEMO is conducting a staged review of the Market Parameters of the Declared Wholesale Gas Market (DWGM) and the Short Term Trading Market (STTM). This draft report details AEMO’s analysis of the 2012 winter period and its draft decision not to proceed with detailed modelling and analysis of market parameters.
Draft Report Consultation Submissions
Stage 2 DWGM and STTM Market Paramater Review - Intermediate Draft Report
AEMO is conducting a staged review of the Market Parameters of the Declared Wholesale Gas Market (DWGM) and the Short Term Trading Market (STTM). This intermediate draft report responds to stakeholder’s submissions in place of a detailed draft second stage report that will be produced following the 2012 winter period. AEMO will determine, in late August or early September, whether to undertake detailed modelling and review of the DWGM and STTM market parameters, following discussion with stakeholders at its consultative forums.

Market Parameter Review Workshop – 4 April 2012
AEMO conducted a workshop to consider the approach to the Market Parameter Review to be undertaken during 2012. The information paper, slide pack and notes from that workshop are provided below:
Overview and Timetable
AEMO is required to undertake this review in accordance with the extended consultative procedure as per section 9A of the National Gas Rules. AEMO is required to complete this review by producing a final report setting out its final recommendations by 31 December 2012.
